Socket members take up BA Fine Art Graduate Residencies at University of Nottingham

Socket members Tracey Kershaw, Jane Pepper, Janet Turville will be taking up BA Fine Art Graduate Residencies at the University of Nottingham’s Fine Art Facilities on the Triumph Road Jubilee Campus. Tracey and Jane will be in place during the current academic year, and Janet during 2013/14.

Iain MacLeod-Brudenell finalist for neo:printprize, Bolton

Socket member Iain MacLeod-Brudenell has had 2 works selected for nomination for the neo:printprize – a sculpture and a video. The neo:printprize is an open exhibition staged by Bolton based neo:studios in association with Hot Bed Press 2012. Its aim is to raise awareness of new trends and directions in printmaking by showcasing excellence and innovation in contemporary British printmaking. Over 400 entries were received from all corners of the UK and from artists working across the whole range of print media.

Socket at the Tarpey Gallery from Sat 8th Sep

Socket’s first group exhibition opens at the Tarpey Gallery, Castle Donnington this Saturday 8th September, 11am – 6pm. There are 12 of us showing work reflecting the diverse practice of the group, through painting, printmaking, installation, three-dimensional work and digital media. The exhibition continues until Sat 29th September, with an opening night on Sat 15th, 6 – 8pm.
