Socket artist Tracey Kershaw, will be part of the launch event for the new Wonderland Project, 6.30-9.00pm Wed 17th July at the New Art Exchange, Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham.
Conceived by Rhiannon Slade and Saira Lloyd of Chromatic Cultures, Wonderland is a large scale community project with the intention of stimulating new perspectives through participation and engagement in the creative arts. The Project is being launched with live music, an interactive panel discussion and the chance to get involved, and Tracey will be bringing elements of her recent show at Derby’s Banks Mill to the evening. Socket artist Janet Turville has been selected for a residency awarded jointly by Synapse Arts, The Collection Museum, Lincoln and the University of Lincoln School of Art and Design.
During the residency, which runs until the end of September 2013, Janet will be responding to the 18th Century porcelain in the Charles Norman Collection in the Usher Gallery, Lincoln. The outcomes of her work will be included in Lincoln’s Digital Culture Frequency Festival 2013.
