The exhibition showcases outcomes from her recent residency, undertaken in association with The Collection, Lincoln, the University of Lincoln School of Art & Design and Synapse Arts, and documented in Janet’s a-n blog.

Janet selected a pair of Derby Porcelain tea services from the Charles Norman Collection as a starting point for the project. Produced in the 1790s and decorated with hand-painted scenes of Derbyshire, each item has the location of the depicted scene recorded on its base, and Janet has spent the summer retracing the original artists’ travels to record her own experience of 27 of the locations as she found them  today.

Janet has woven the captured imagery into a digital film that will be on display at The Collection, Danes Terrace, Lincoln, Mon-Sun 10am-4.00pm, 18th Oct – 30th Nov 2013, admission free.

Janet will also be delivering an artist’s talk about how her digital film was inspired by the porcelain on Wed 23rd October 2-3pm at The Collection, see The Collection website for more details.
