Socket artists in Nottingham University’s Summer Exhibition 2014

Summer-exhibition-2014Socket artists Dorothy Dexter, Jane Pepper and Nicola Rae have had work selected for inclusion in the University of Nottingham’s Summer Exhibition at the Djanogly Art Gallery, Lakeside.

The annual Summer Exhibition showcases recent work by staff, students and alumni of the University. It is open daily, Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 12-4pm Sat 19th July – Sat 9th August 2014, admission free.

Jane Pepper commissioned for Joseph Wright Study Room, Derby Museum & Gallery

Socket artist Jane Pepper has recently fulfilled a commission to develop a wallpaper design for use in the new Joseph Wright Study Room at Derby Museum and Gallery.

The study room is part of the new Joseph Wright Institute, and offers free public access to a range of Wright-related resources, including many of his sketches and drawings, and a large collection of related books.

Jane will be giving a talk about the commission on Sat 16th August as part of the museum’s program of Wright-inspired events associated with the current exhibition ‘Joseph Wright of Derby: Bath and Beyond’, which runs until 31 Aug 2014.
