Socket artists Steve Gresham and Jane Pepper have both had work selected for inclusion in the University of Nottingham’s annual Cedric Ford Art Prize & Exhibition 2015 which launches in the top floor project space at the Surface Gallery on Friday 16th January 6-9pm alongside the gallery’s annual International Post Card show. The prize is named after Dr Cedric Ford in honour of his continued support of the study of Fine Art at the University of Nottingham, and showcases work by students and alumni of the BA Fine Art course, including drawings, paintings, videos and mixed media works. This year’s show includes work by Lydia Crump, Jo-Ann Dodsworth, Debbie Geddes, Steve Gresham, Dianne Illsley, Maud Lannen (prize-winner), Tony Moss, Mandy Payne, Jane Pepper, Jane Wheat, Louise Whittle, Marie Williams, Alison Woolacott.
Following its launch the exhibition will be on display at Surface Gallery Sat 17th-Sat 24th January (Tues-Fri 12-6pm, Sat 11-5pm) before moving on to the University’s Exchange Building, Jubilee Campus in February, and the Centre for Advanced Studies on main campus April 2015.
