Socket artists deliver sustainable chemistry commissions

Socket artists Jane Pepper, Nicola Rae, Janet Turville and Helen Williams are amongst 10 artists selected to make work for display in the Glaxo-Smith-Kline Sustainable Chemistry Carbon Neutral Laboratory on the Jubilee Campus of Nottingham University.

The work was commissioned by the School of Chemistry as a response to the fire of September 2014, and the 10 selected artists are all staff and alumni of the university’s recently closed BA Fine Art(Hons) course. The work produced spans a range of media and has been installed throughout the ground floor of the completed building, including the Winter Garden and foyer area.

There will be a launch event on Wednesday 14th December 6-8pm to celebrate the work produced, and a printed catalogue will be available. Both the launch and the catalogue have been organised by Socket artist Gillian Perkins.gsk-cnl-art-launch-invite-nov-2016
